Need an unauthorised vehicle removed from a commercial property?
Southern Districts Towing provides commercial tow-away services for authorised businesses and commercial properties across South Auckland, helping property owners and managers deal with unauthorised vehicles.
Commercial Properties
Is a Southern Districts Towing sign displayed?
YES – A Southern Districts Towing sign is displayed
If the vehicle is parked in breach of the conditions displayed on the signage, please contact our team. We can confirm the property details and whether the vehicle can be removed.
NO – There is no Southern Districts Towing sign
If there is no Southern Districts Towing tow-away sign displayed at the property, we cannot provide an immediate tow-away service.
Private-property towing has specific legal and authorisation requirements that must be in place before we can remove a vehicle.
What should I do if there is no SDT sign?
If the vehicle is on a public road or council-controlled area, please contact Auckland Council regarding the parking issue.
If you own or manage a commercial property and regularly experience unauthorised parking, contact Southern Districts Towing to discuss setting up an authorised tow-away arrangement and signage for your property.
Residential / Private Property Tow-Aways
Southern Districts Towing cannot provide one-off private property tow-aways for members of the public.
If the vehicle is parked on a public road or council-controlled area, please contact Auckland Council or Police, where appropriate, for further advice.
Why can't we just tow the vehicle?
A tow truck operator does not automatically have the authority to remove a vehicle from private property, even when the vehicle has been parked there without the property owner's permission.
Before undertaking any tow-away enforcement, we need to ensure the property, parking restrictions and authority to tow meet the appropriate legal requirements.
These requirements help protect the property owner, vehicle owner and Southern Districts Towing.
